So Why use Viivo for your business website?

That's a great question and with so many methods for creating websites available to you it may not always be the best solution but we believe we have a product that will really help businesses get started on the web.

Here's a little history into the idea behind Viivo: we run a website design company and get to hear about lots of new projects on a regular basis. The clients vary enormously from long established companies to startups to sole traders. In this day and age most people want to take control of their website and be able to manage the content themselves without the need to maintenance agreements and retainer fees. However, getting a content management system powering your website can be expensive especially for the younger companies. We have found that there is a big market for small business websites but at low cost.

In order to create a sustainable business around this market the amount of time spent per client needs to be low enough to be profitable but at entry level costs a company would not get a content management powered website with a custom design - at least to the standard we would expect from a website design agency! So this is where the idea for creating a system where companies can signup and build their own content came from.

Website builder tools are not a new idea, there are a lot of them. We know having researched the marketplace! Some are free, some have advertising, some are free when you buy a domain name, some are built using flash but most importantly we have found that most of them are very complicated - even to us and we're web designers!

This is obviously a problem. Your average new business owner does not want to spend a lot of time learning how to use a big complicated system, they want to get some content up online quickly and that it looks good - they can then focus on their business. So above all the number one priority for Viivo is simplicity. Looking through the other systems on the market they are packed full of features which make learning the system time consuming. As our target market is small businesses we decided to cut away all these secondary features and concentrate on the really important stuff: the content.

Setting a design is also simple in Viivo. You have access over a few designs and can then add your own logo and main brand colour. This is enough to statisfy most! Anymore and it gets too complicated.
