Chameleon Studios currently has 2 dedicated servers, one in London Docklands the other in Manchester. For viivo.net we decided early on that we want to keep the hosting away from our two servers which are used for client websites. The reason: so that we can have more flexibility with upgrading and installing of software and components without an risk of impact onto our clients.

As a startup project we want to keep costs low but have the ability to scale up easily and quickly. So rather than a dedicated server we decided to go for a virtual server or VS. After extensive research we have opened an account with Pipex.

Pipex offer a great VS where we have the ability to scale up as our requirements grow. They also offer fantastic amounts of bandwidth (into the terabytes) which for this type of service is going to be crucial.

With hosting platform now in place we are getting closer and closer to our beta launch.
